Welcome to our website where we hope to provide a brief glimpse into this exciting Kung Fu system.
This unique interpretation of the Shaolin Ancestors system by Siukee Wan can be viewed as a modern translation of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts without any of its mythical and sometimes theatrical expressions and reveals the Yi (Essence) in Kung Fu which is so often cleverly concealed behind a Master’s hands. One of our aims is to reveal some of Kung Fu’s best kept secrets and present it in a way which makes it very applicable for martial arts training in the 21st Century.
Historically Kung Fu in China during feudal times was designed for actual hand to hand combat and much of the important technologies of fighting were usually passed down through the generations in the way of forms or sets. But as with all forms, over time they are open to interpretation and personal preferences thus the true meanings and understanding of the movements in the forms may now be different to what it was originally trying to convey. Importantly the energetics or Internal signature behind the movements can rarely be copied or understood from just external observation. This is why we usually can't tell a person's fighting skills and power until we have engaged hands.
The strength of the Ancestors system lies in the conceptual understanding of body kinetics and Internal energy flow. The system dwells on a deep understanding of the energetics which form the basis of many martial arts techniques. Ancestor techniques are
expressed through the flow of energy and the dynamics of the energetics. Thus training involves linking with the opponent’s energy whilst simultaneously appropriating a reaction. The result is to intercept and confront the opponent’s energy with the aim to control rather than to deflect it. Without linking we lose the chance to influence and hence empty an opponent’s power. As a Shaolin system our first aim in Self Defence is to attack our apponents position rather than the person himself, that way we are able to gain an advantageous position without the need for unnecessary or excessive force.
The Yi of Ancestors embodies a true understanding of both body mechanics and energetics. Its core foundation is based on the Universal laws of Ying and Yang principles thus staying true to the heart of Chinese Kung Fu.
The Soft Internal power of Ancestors and it's free flowing nature lends itself to be the flexible martial arts that is timeless and can be used for Recreation, Health and Practical Self Defence.
